This session will provide an in-depth overview of the Crash Causal Factors Program (CCFP), a national effort to better understand and prevent crashes involving commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). Attendees will learn how the program collects and analyzes crash data—particularly from fatal incidents involving heavy-duty trucks—to identify root causes and inform safety strategies. With CMV-related fatalities on the rise, the CCFP aims to guide evidence-based policy, enforcement, and prevention efforts while ensuring data privacy and protection.
